When to take GRE?

As you did with the SAT, it is probably a good idea to take the GRE before the fall semester of your senior year begins (the test is given year round). The General Test and the Writing Assessment are two separate tests. Year round computer based testing (CBT) is available at test centers worldwide. Appointments are scheduled on a first come, first served basis. To register for the exam, call 1 800 GRE CALL. You may take a CBT once per calendar month. This is true even if you canceled your scores on a previous CBT taken within the same month. However, before you plan on taking the test again, you might want to keep in mind the fact that the GRE test fees are $105 when taken in the United States, U.S. territories, and Puerto Rico.
